Someone is 1 month old!!!

So now that she is a month and as of Thursday weighed 9 pounds, 9 ounces, we have moved on to cloth diapers! YAY! Here she is in her pink ensemble :) and her pajama top. For those of you in the know, she is wearing a prefold with a bikini twist and a Swaddlebees cover. Isn't she cute?!! (That's a rhetorical question, I already know the answer :)

Yesterday we made a trip out to our clinic and Kacey got to meet her doctor and nurse that have not seen her since she was a microscopic embryo! This is Dr. Michelle Evans and Cynthia Arenas from the Pasadena Huntington Reproductive Center. Hopefully we never see them again in a clinical sense, only socially but if we do ever decide to go for #2 and need medical help, this is definitely the team we will be calling on!

I was a bit nervous going to the clinic. I remember being in the waiting room and on very rare occasion someone would bring a baby or child in. I hated that and would glare at them with my evil eye. I didn't want to cause any evil eyes but I really wanted to show off Kacey and thank them once again for our miracle. I did make an appointment and 9am was the time they told me to come in. When the elevator doors opened a couple came out of the elevator with a big bag full of drugs, they glanced at me but I quickly jumped into the elevator. I had purposefully put Kacey in her sling and had her covered up. I was not going to go in with a big old stroller and a screaming baby! When we got to the lobby there was only one person in the waiting room, I went to the window quickly and almost whispered, "I am here to see Dr. Evans" The girl behind the counter very quickly ushered me into a conference room. I was so thankful! It was so nice to see Dr Evans and Cynthia. I can't imagine how wonderful it is for them to see the end result! They must see so much heartache and to see a happy ending must really make it all worth it.

39 weeks, 2 days

Well I really hope I am not writing a title of "40 weeks, 2 days" next Monday!! Is it wrong of me that I wake up a little disappointed in the morning that I haven't gone into labor? Saturday really would be the perfect day but I can't help going to bed at night hoping a little that I will wake up with menstrual type cramps at 3am. I just really want to meet Twiggy! BTW, she's being compared to the weight of a mini watermelon this week.

Thank you very much for all of the lovely compliments on my maternity photos. I love them too and really appreciate the comments. :)

I had a very nice weekend. We again spent it like it was our last (although driving to Vegas at 10pm on Friday would've been a better way to prove the point!!) Jamie and I took a nice long walk, saw Iron Man (which was fantastic!) and had a friend over for dinner. For Mother's Day we had a family breakfast, which we do every year (although this year, I was not avoiding looking around at babies and bellies, it was much more enjoyable.) Jamie gave me a very cute card from Twiggy and a onesie with mommy and baby giraffes that said "Mommy and Me" and a bright pink bathrobe for Twiggy with an elephant on it. He said he really enjoyed shopping in the baby clothes section! Woo-hoo! My mom also gave me a very sweet card from Twiggy. :) I'm gonna be a lucky mommy :)

I also made this recipe for Cinnamon-Maple Applesauce. I don't think I have ever put a recipe on my blog but this was sooooooo good and sooooo easy.

Some congrats to blogs I read:
  • Me? A mom? - She had her second daughter yesterday! This blog is one of the very first I ever started reading.
  • Balancing Act - She was my due date twin and had her baby girl last week. (I gotta admit I am jealous!!)

Good luck to All Things Peachy! as today is her due date!!! She is the one I had lunch with last week. Obviously the Labor salad did not work for her!

A mixed blessing that has come very early

Another post for today. I was just catching up on blogs and saw that Flotsam has had her twins. If you aren't familiar with her blog, then I highly recommend you get familiar. I can't do her story justice except to say the delivery is a very mixed blessing and way too early. It's hard for me to comprehend since we are at the same stage. My prayers go to Alexa and Scott as they mourn the loss of Ames Michel and rejoice in the birth of Simone Lee. Oh little Simone, please fight hard, grow big and strong. May your brother always watch over you.

More good news, I could scream!!!

Back in June I met Patience at TTC with DH through IVF with AMA and a MF for a BFP and she was in her 2ww after IVF. I remember hoping so badly that she was going to have a positive outcome but unfortunately she did not. Well I am VERY happy to report that she just got a BFP on an HPT yesterday and had it confirmed today with a beta of 68!!!! I am sooooooo excited for her!!!!! Please go give her your congrats!! This is a very good week on the infertile island.

ADVANCED MATERNAL AGE

First things first, this just cracked me up!!!

I stole it from Amanda at Waiting In Line...My turn, yet? hahahahahahahahahahhahahahaha!!!!

Second, will BALANCING ACT please give me your blog address? I would love to follow along your blog since we have the same due date and all. I tried clicking on your bio but it doesn't link to your blog. Thanks for your kind words yesterday. Glad you found me :)

Lastly but certainly not least, let's talk about the Twiglet!!! I went in for my OB appointment today. The nurse took my blood pressure, weight etc and then said the doctor would be right in and was about to walk out. I said "Wait, what am I supposed to take off?" She said "Nothing." Cue me staring at the door in disbelief as she closed it. What? A doctor appointment with my clothes on? What kind of place is this? I am surprised we don't all undress in the waiting room to same time. So there I sat with all my clothes. I didn't quite know what to do with myself. I normally fiddle about with the paper dress and spend time seperating the paper sandwiching the plastic and tie and untie the plastic belt. I got very confused and grabbed my magazine and read. Hmm. So in came my doctor and I almost expected her to tell me it was a mistake. "Take off your clothes you silly clothed woman!! Where do you think you are? The dentist?" But no, she just started chatting. She went over my bloodwork results. You will all be glad to know I am O+, tested negative for AIDS and syphillis and most importantly negative for cystic fibrosis. All good things.

She then came at my belly with the Radi.o Shac.k walkie talkie and pulled down my pants a bit. We discussed the Bella Band and how it worked as she had never seen one before (Really?) so she said she was going to start recommending them to others as she thought it was a great idea. She found Twiggy's heartbeat right away. I said, OK if you say so... how do you know that's not me? She said that if it were my heartbeat, she would drive me to the ER! Nothing in my body should be beating that fast except Twiggy. So yay! She also said she could tell Twig was moving around a lot.

So we made my next appointment for Dec 27th and discussed my need for a prescription for the Big u/s (stupid insurance is requiring it) So on the prescription she wrote:

dx = ADVANCED MATERNAL AGE

Sigh.

7 weeks 2 days

YAYAYYAAYAYAY Good news Waiting on Two Pink Lines got two pink lines this morning!!!

Well with the new due date change, my week change in on Saturday. That kind of sucks because I rarely post on Saturdays so there is no big 7 WEEKS!!! title. Oh well you get it 2 days later. I am ok with that, as long as I get to keep posting about THIS pregnancy I am happy! So Twiggy is the size of a blueberry this week. I eat blueberries on my cereal every morning.. ate about 30 twiglets this morning, haha! So should I try eating the representative food each week? We're ok until cantaloupe, I hate cantaloupe... I digress. Twiggy is also sprouting some arms and legs, quite the overachiever. And I think I am tired! How must Twiggy feel?!

Over the weekend I had 2 different people ask if it was ok to say the "C" word now and I got to smile and say yes, now that have have seen the heartbeat, the "C" word is welcome (Still don't want to tell the whole world yet though!) So I got to hear congratulations twice. WOW, that sure felt good!

Hi Ginny! Feel free to leave a comment anytime you like!

a sad Friday...

Please give some love to The Wizard of Ovulation.

Also a friend on my local Nestie board lost her "eggy" today at 9 weeks. I am so sad and heartbroken.

I am also terrified. Being surrounded by sadness and loss is just so hard. It is of course harder for the girls and their husbands who are experiencing the loss but it is just another big fat reminder how delicate my situation is. (As if I didn't already know by the 2 people people who insisted on pointing it out!!...yes I am still bitter about it)

Jamie asked when I will be able to relax and I said when I see the heartbeat but as these 2 examples show, the heartbeat just doesn't mean everything. I will then need to see it a second time and a third. Maybe after I see it sucking it's thumb. I don't know, after 18 months of nothing happening and my body screaming over and over again "I DON'T WORK!!! STOP THIS WORTHLESS TRYING!!!" I almost feel like I tricked it into letting this embryo move in. I am afraid my stupid body will try to prove it doesn't work again and evict the poor little twiglet. I honestly do not think I will ever stop worrying.

Symptoms and my little secret

So this weekend a symptom hit me big time. Fatigue. I napped on Saturday but I was just watching tv waiting for the cable guy at my moms house. Yesterday I was at the grocery store around 1 and realized I was exhausted. I couldn't think of anything but sleep. I got home and Jamie helped me bring the groceries into the house. I put away the frozen stuff and announced I was taking a nap. He asked if I wanted him to put away the groceries and I told him to leave them (he was busy painting our new window trim and I didn't want him to have to stop.) So we left all the groceries on the counter and I went to bed. I slept for over an hour. But wow, I felt good when I woke up and was able to go on with the day! I'm interested to see what happens today at work, especially since we had sleeping issues last night. Chalk it up to a family of raccoons deciding to throw a disco party in our backyard at 2am. Hunger is also really rearing its head. When I get hungry, I really get hungry and need food now. I have kind of always been that way but this seems to come on a bit faster.

On Saturday I went out with 3 girlfriends and one of them commented on my unbuttoned jeans (they are just too tight at the end of the day!) It's nice that I am now excused to unbutton the pants and no one thinks I am crazy! We had a great evening though and I even stayed up til 10. The minute I got home though, you guessed it, straight to bed!

One other thing that I really like. I feel like I have a big secret. At the grocery store, I kept looking at people and thinking "they don't know my secret" and I would smile to myself! I love this delicious little secret (even though a zillion people know) Life is just so very good right now and I am enjoying every minute!

Congrats to The Vicious Cycle of Cycles, topcat and Waiting In Line...My turn, yet? they all have a twig growing too!!!!!

Speaking of blogs.... WTF is up with people blocking their blogs? I have had 2 blogs blocked that now say they only are for invited people. I feel like I have been kicked out of a club or something. Did I piss you off? Not offer enough support? Do I smell? WTF? These are the 2 blogs I miss, if anyone can tell me how to get back into the secret club, I would appreciate it.

So very sad...

In this whole infertility mess, I keep myself company by reading 30+ blogs. You may have noted several posts of Another Twiglet is Sprouting! I am so very happy when one of us overcomes IF and gets themselves knocked up. Unfortunately the opposite happens but hopefully not very often.

Please go send some love to The Sweet Life. Her twiglet stopped growing. I can't imagine anything more painful. I am just so sad for her.

Another twig is growing....

OK, so it seems to be the week of BFP's (oh please can it continue til Monday!!! Please, please, please!!!)

Fertile Hope and Still Trying After All Those Pills have sprouted a twig! YAY!!!! Go give them some congrats!!

For me, I am on 10dpiui and not feeling much anymore. One little possible interesting thing is that the bewbies have not been sore for about 2 days now; however, this morning they feel full, kind of hard. My hopes will skyrocket if they hurt tomorrow. No matter what, I will not test until Monday. If I saw a BFN before then, I could tell myself it was early but I wouldn't believe it. Although my hope is waning, I'd like to keep onto it's shreds just a little bit longer.
